Frequently Asked Questions...
How do you increase the volume levels of a midi controller?
I recently bought an M-Audio Axoim 49 note keyboard to use with FL Studio. I have it connected via a usb cable (which came with it), and I am using a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card.
Basically, whenever I go to play, the sound that comes out of my speakers is so low that I an barely hear it. I have my system volume turned all the way up, and I have to turn my speaker volume nearly all the way up to hear it. There is nothing to increase the volume on the keyboard. When I look at the sound output monitor in the audio console for my sound card, the output of the controller is usually at least 20 decibels lower than every other sound on my computer.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong - I've checked just about everything I could think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
I'm assuming that the keyboard uses the MIDI Synth of the X-Fi card.
In "Audio Creation" mode either expand the width of the mixer window (shown in green) or scroll right. You'll see MIDI Synth listed and ensure that it's 100%.
