If you can save up some more money, I'd suggest a Korg MS2000. Internally, it's identical to the microKorg, but it has more physical controls, making it easier to work with. If not, then just get the microKorg. You can find software editors to tweak the microKorg with. Trust me, you'll want to get the editor. The microKorg is annoying to program without it. And I've heard the Micron isn't easier.
