Any decent drum kit with all round sizes will suit your preferred styles. It's gonna be more about the way you tune them and your technique that determine suitability.

Take Chic Corea for instance; Dave Weckl on Drums playing with a 22" bass drum, nicely high tuned snare and toms. Then take Led Zeppelin; John Bonham using a massive 28" Bass and massive open sounding Toms.

I would say get whatever kit YOU feel comfortable with (if the Premiere just won't do). Maybe consider getting an additional Larger Bass drum for the heavier stuff.

Adding more flavors to your Cymbal Palette will be beneficial too.

But remember, it's not the TOOLS that make a picture so great, it's the ARTIST! Tune up, groove out and enjoy yourself : )
